TraceIP finds devices in your local network and checks your connection. Use it only on networks you own or are allowed to inspect.

Getting Started

Scan

The scan shows your IP address, the gateway and every device that answers, with host names, manufacturers and open services where available. Tap a device for details and a live ping. Android 10 and newer hide other devices' MAC addresses from apps, so the MAC is often not shown.

Ping and Trace

Ping measures the response time and packet loss of an address or host name. Trace shows the routers on the way to a host and the delay per hop. Some routers do not answer; this is shown as a timeout and is normal.

Wake

Save a device with its MAC address, or import it from the last scan, and wake it with a magic packet. The device must support Wake-on-LAN and have it enabled, and your phone must be in the same network.

Wi-Fi

The Wi-Fi analyzer shows nearby networks with signal strength, channel and band and suggests the least busy channels. It needs precise location and location services switched on. Android limits how often apps may scan, so results refresh about every 35 seconds.

Speed

The speed test measures latency, jitter, download and upload with Cloudflare's measurement service. On fast connections a test can transfer hundreds of megabytes; avoid it on a limited mobile data plan.

Settings and Info

Settings contain language, light or dark appearance, "Scan when the app opens" and the location status with a shortcut to the system settings. Info contains this help, feedback, the legal documents, the open-source licenses and "Ad privacy choices". "More apps by Wolpa" appears there when other apps are available; it is self-promotion.
