TraceIP is a network discovery and connectivity diagnostics tool (device scanning, ping, traceroute, Wi-Fi analysis, Wake-on-LAN, Internet speed test) provided free of charge by Paul Wolfmajer (developer name Wolpa), Forstsiedlung 20, 8074 Raaba-Grambach, Austria, support@wolfmajer.com. Before using the tools, you are asked to expressly accept this version of the terms in the app. Acknowledging the Privacy Policy is separate from any advertising consent.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use TraceIP. If you are younger, you may use the app only with the consent and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

License

Subject to these terms, the provider grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use TraceIP on devices you own or control, solely for lawful network discovery and connectivity diagnostics. Open-source components remain governed by their own licenses. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

App Store Terms

If you obtain TraceIP through a platform such as Google Play, that platform's own terms additionally apply to your download and use of the app. The platform is not a party to these terms and is not responsible for the app, its content, support or any claims arising from its use, except to the extent its own terms expressly require.

Advertising and Self-Promotion

TraceIP may display banner ads provided by Google AdMob and offers optional rewarded video ads to support the developer, which are shown only when you actively choose to watch one. Advertising is subject to the privacy choices described in the Privacy Policy. You may not manipulate, automate or fraudulently interact with ads.

"More apps by Wolpa" lists other apps by the same developer. It is self-promotion, labelled as such, switched remotely and never required for any function. Store pages and videos it opens are provided by Google under Google's terms.

Authorized Use Only

Use TraceIP only on networks, hosts and devices you own or are authorized to inspect, probe or wake. Company, school, hotel, public or other managed networks may have rules that restrict scanning, pinging or tracing; you are responsible for using the app only where it is allowed.

Right after you accept these terms, TraceIP runs one scan of the network your device is connected to. Accept only while connected to a network you may scan. If you switch on "Scan when the app opens", a scan runs every time you open the app on whichever network the device uses; switch it off before using a network you may not inspect.

You may not use TraceIP to disrupt, attack, gain unauthorized access to, surveil or otherwise interfere with any network, system, device or person, or to violate any applicable law, third-party right or acceptable-use policy.

No Guarantee

TraceIP does not guarantee that every device, service or intermediate router will be found or correctly identified. Results may be incomplete or inaccurate depending on network conditions, device behavior, firewalls, operating-system restrictions and permissions.

Speed test results are estimates and may differ from the speeds contractually promised by your Internet provider. A speed test deliberately transfers data at the highest achievable rate and may use a significant amount of data; you are responsible for any data charges, especially on metered or mobile connections. TraceIP does not replace professional security advice.

Statutory Rights and Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits mandatory statutory rights, including applicable consumer warranty rights, remedies for non-conforming digital services or required security updates, even though the app has no monetary price. The technical limitations described above do not remove these rights.

The provider remains liable under applicable law, including for personal injury, intentional misconduct and gross negligence. These terms do not impose a blanket exclusion of liability or require you to waive mandatory consumer rights.

Updates, Service Changes, and Stopping Use

The app checks a public version file at launch. For compatibility, security or legal reasons, an outdated build may be blocked until you install a supported update, and a discontinuation notice may block use of the app. Once received, such a block is stored locally and also applies offline until a supported build is installed or a later online check withdraws it. A device that has never received a block remains usable if the check is unavailable.

Features may need to change for security, technical compatibility or legal reasons. Material changes will be explained in the app or release information, with advance notice where required by law. You may stop using TraceIP at any time by uninstalling it. Mandatory rights to continued conformity, updates, termination or other remedies remain unaffected.

Complaints and Dispute Resolution

Send support requests or complaints with your app version and a description to support@wolfmajer.com. Your right to seek legal remedies is unaffected. The provider is neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Austria, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Court jurisdiction is determined by the applicable statutory rules; these terms do not restrict a consumer's right to bring proceedings in a court available under those rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country in which you are habitually resident remain unaffected.

Changes to these Terms

These terms may be updated to reflect changes in the app or in applicable law. The "Last updated" date indicates when the latest revision took effect; earlier revisions remain available at their dated addresses. Material changes will be presented to you before they apply, and express acceptance will be requested where required. Merely continuing to use the app is not treated as acceptance of future changes. These terms are available in English and German.
